Some partnerships are built on paperwork. Others are built on purpose. Our collaboration with Robin Hood Army — one of India's most respected volunteer-driven organisations fighting hunger — was the second kind. Two organisations, one shared belief: no child should go to school hungry, and no child should leave school without hope.

Together, we took that belief to the ground.

Who is Robin Hood Army?

Robin Hood Army is a zero-funds volunteer organisation that works to get surplus food from restaurants and cities to the less fortunate sections of society across India and 12 other countries. Their model is simple, powerful, and human — connect excess with need, and do it with dignity.

For Prakritii Foundation, partnering with Robin Hood Army meant combining our on-ground community networks and environmental mission with their proven food distribution expertise. The result was a school drive that addressed hunger, awareness, and community connection all at once.

"When two purpose-driven organisations come together, the impact is never just additive — it's multiplicative." — Prakritii Foundation

What Happened on the Ground

The drive brought together volunteers from both organisations for a day of action at schools where children from underprivileged backgrounds study. The activities were designed to address immediate needs as well as longer-term awareness.

The Link Between Hunger and Environment

It might seem like hunger and environmental conservation are separate issues. They are not.

Hunger drives environmental destruction. When families are food insecure, they over-extract from local ecosystems — cutting trees for fuel, over-fishing rivers, farming without rest cycles. Environmental degradation deepens hunger — depleted soils grow less food, erratic rains destroy harvests, floods wipe out entire agricultural seasons.

This is why Prakritii Foundation's work spans both domains. Addressing hunger is environmental work. Restoring ecosystems is food security work. They are two sides of the same challenge, and they require organisations to work together rather than in separate silos.

What Volunteering Looks Like

One of the most powerful outcomes of this collaboration was what it showed our volunteers. Many of them were young — college students, first-time volunteers, people who had never seen the direct impact of their time and energy before.

Seeing a child's face light up when receiving a notebook. Watching a parent thank a volunteer with folded hands. Hearing a teacher say that this was the first time anyone had come to their school — these are moments that don't just move people emotionally. They transform them into lifelong changemakers.

Why We Believe in Collaboration

India's social challenges are too large for any single organisation to solve alone. The most effective NGOs are not those that try to do everything — they are those that know what they do best and find the right partners for everything else.

Prakritii Foundation brings environmental expertise, community networks, and youth energy. Robin Hood Army brings food logistics, volunteer mobilisation, and a trusted national brand. Together, we delivered more than either could alone.

What we look for in a collaboration partner:
